Death is a thought that many avoid, especially inn a time of medical advancements and technological improvements when we expect a long, healthy life. Have you ever thought about your own death? Have you prepared a will? Have you made funeral arrangements? Have you made eternal arrangements? Although uncertain when death will occur, it is a guaranteed occurrence.
The Bible says there will be a judgment after this life, are you ready?

"He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." John 3:18

1. The Bible says that everyone, without exception, commits sin. A sin is when we do something that we are not suppose to do: as little children we sinned when we lied or touch something that our parents told us not to touch.

"For all have sinned, and come short of the Glory of God." Romans 3:23

2. The Bible says that we have earned a punishment for that sin. Just like we earn a payment for disobeying our parents, we have earned a payment for our sin. The Bible says that the payment is death, but not a physical death. It's a spiritual death.

"For the wages of sin is death..." Romans 6:23a

"...and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." Revelation 21:8

3. God doesn't want you to go to Hell. He is a merciful, compassionate God who loved us so much that He gave His Son, Jesus Christ, to pay that penalty through His death.

"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

Because of God's sacrifice, we are offered the free gift of eternal life.

"...but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23b

God's Free Gift

4. We must accept this gift. God has never forced anything upon anyone. He doesn't force us to go to church or to read His Word, so He won't force us to go to Heaven either. The Bible says that the only way to accept this gift is to call upon God and to ask for it. However, its not the words that complete the request, but the belief that Jesus will truly save you and give you this free gift of eternal life.

"That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation...For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:9-13

Dear God, I know that I am a sinner, and I need to be saved. I believe that you died for me. I ask you to come into my heart, to save me, and to take me to Heaven when I die. Thank you Lord, amen.

If you believed what you prayed, the Bible says that you are on your way to Heaven.

"These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have have eternal life..." 1 John 5:13
